/ Our Evolution

From the Digital Divide to the Opportunity Divide

Urban Ed was founded in 2000 to help bridge the digital divide through technology education, workforce development, and economic opportunity. Over the next twenty-five years, the organization served more than 7,500 youth and adults while helping expand access to technology careers.

As technology transformed the economy, a new challenge emerged. Today, one of the greatest barrier is no longer access to technology alone, but access to opportunity. Verve TechGateway Foundation was created to help individuals and communities prepare for the future of work through workforce development, apprenticeship pathways, employer engagement, and emerging technology education.
